Adult Education in the Community
Computer Courses & Activities at VRCC
Please note that the following courses are subject to sufficient enrolment numbers, therefore starting dates are not always listed.
If you are interested in a course, please phone or call in at the Centre and register your interest. When we have sufficient registrations of interest , we will contact you with the course starting date and details.
Those courses which are funded by Adult, Community and Further Education have a concession price listed. This price is available for people in receipt of Centrelink payments and Gold Card holders who are not already in receipt of Government support in training or employment services.
If you have skills and or interests that you would like to share with the community as a tutor, group facilitator or instructor, please contact the Centre as we may well be able to add to the courses and activities we offer by utilizing your skills and experience.

Please note: Computer courses are our most popular area of adult education. We run courses throughout the year according to community demand. Courses are run during the day, evening and on weekends to suit community needs. Our courses include Introduction to Excel, Word, Windows, Access, Desktop Publishing, Power Point & Advanced Internet.
If there is a computer course you would like to suggest we run, please let us know as with sufficient other interest, we may well be able to run the course.
Community Access to Computers
Has your computer “crashed” or do you need to use a computer and printer or the internet? Our computers are available for casual use to the community at $2.50 per hour when they are not in use for computer courses.

Course Outline:
Have you recently inherited a computer and want to learn how to use it?
This is a course for both absolute beginners and those who have very limited experience with computers. Learn with other beginners in a small, supportive group with experienced computer tutors. Start with the absolute basics and progress to learning how to use the internet & to send and receive email. Course fee includes 2 easy to follow manuals.
Course Length: 3 hours per week for 9 weeks
Cost: $135 or $125 (concession)

Building a computer is actually easier than most people think and maintaining one is even easier. In most cases, you need very little computer experience. The main requirement is that you be a bit technically minded and able to use a screwdriver.

- How to edit and work with photos on your computer
- Using a scanner to transfer photos on to your computer
- Burning your photos to a CD
