Karen Feldman’s Dance Studio has been operating at the Vines Road Community Centre since 2005. Our philosophy is to enjoy dance in a fun and casual atmosphere, whilst learning the fundamental principals of modern dance technique.

Tiny Tots
Age Range: 2–5 years
When:Tuesday or Thursday, 4.30pm – 5:45pm
A fun introduction to dance and movement incorporating well-known musical favorites such as Fairies, Wiggles and Hi-5.
Juniors
Age Ranges: 6-8 years
When: Tuesday or Thursday, 6pm – 6:45pm
An easy-going modern jazz-funk dance class suitable for Primary School aged children. Music and dance movements are carefully selected with a young age-range in mind.
Intermediates
Age Ranges: 9-11years
When: Tuesday, 7 – 7:45pm
A fun and energetic class which incorporates modern jazz, hip hop and cheerleading styles. Suitable for primary school aged children, both beginners and experienced.
Seniors
Age Range: 10 – 16 years
When: Tuesday, 7:45pm – 8:45pm
A solid foundation in a number of dance styles is taught in this relaxed and fun class. Styles include modern jazz/funk, hip-hop and contemporary. Suitable for high-school aged dancers, either beginners or experienced.
Advanced Seniors
Age Range: 16+ years
When: Thursday, 7.45pm – 8.45pm
This high-energy class is suitable for experienced dancers. The main dance style taught is contemporary jazz, with a little bit of hip hop and modern jazz throw in.
Please note classes do not run on public holidays.
Class Prices
Classes are $8 per student on a pay-per-week basis. Two dancers from the same family pay $15 and three pay $20.
End of Year Presentation
A casual presentation for parents, grandparents and friends is held at the end of the year. The 2010 Presentation will take place in December at the Vines Road Community Centre Main Hall. No costume making is required by parents for this performance.
Principal Dance Teacher
Karen has been dancing for over 15 years and was absolutely thrilled to open up her own dance studio in 2005. ‘Karen Feldman’s Dance Studio’ runs from the Vines Road Community Centre in Geelong on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and currently there is over 100 students enrolled in classes.
In 2001 & 2002 she trained in contemporary dance through Deakin University, where she was taught creative dance techniques and developed advanced choreography skills.
She coached the Geelong Supercats Cheerleaders for 2 years and ran Cheerleading school-holiday workshops for young girls. She was selected for the Victorian State Dancers in 1999, a state government dance troupe which performed at government functions and events. In 1998 she toured Europe with the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge and was also involved with choreography for Rock Eisteddfods at Belmont High School.
On stage she first performed with GSODA Junior Players then went onto be a member of several amateur theatre dance ensembles.
She currently works as a travel writer for Postcards Magazine, a spin-off of the popular Channel Nine TV show.
